Christ must always come before the church,for the church exists for Christ and his glory, not vice-versa. Likewise the church is mentioned before her ministers. Again Matthew Henry said it so well,  He mentions the church before the ministers, because &#8220;the ministers are for the church, for their edification and benefit, not the churches for the ministers, for their dignity, dominion, and wealth.
